At The Ferry we are enthusiastic supporters of live music and through the winter season offer the bar as a venue for musicians to showcase their skills and for folk to come together to enjoy informal sessions. For winter 24/25 we have a Folk and Americana, and a Trad sessions alternating every Sunday afternoon.

The Orkney Folk Festival at the end of May, Stromness Shopping Week in July, the Orkney Blues Festival in September and Orktoberfest are highlights but through the winter this year we have a fortnightly Sunday Folk and Americana session courtesy of local group 'Stoatfinger' and friends, and every other week a trad session hosted by Jenny Wrigley and Laurence Wilson. All welcome whether to join in or just to relax with a glass..

Visiting players will be welcomed and there will always be a guitar, fiddle or mandolin for those away from home but prepared to pick up an instrument and join in – or start off – a session.
